The vision of Parpar
The child is central
respect - individually and together
We at ParPar strive to achieve a good balance, integrating freedom and autonomy
to encourage the child within a clear and respectful framework.
For us the child is always central. Above all, this means that we respect the child, every child, as a full-fledged individual. Every child has the need and right to be seen and accepted exactly the way s/he is. Acknowledgement and acceptance strengthen the feeling of self worth and safety of the child, and support the development of his/her identity. We pay attention to the physical and emotional needs of the child, and try to fulfill these in order to support the child during the early years of his/her life.
For babies it is important that we pay special attention to their physical needs: We make sure they eat, sleep, and receive personal attention. Importantly, we comfort the child the moment s/he starts to cry.
Toddlers and preschoolers can choose whether they want to participate in the joint activities or not. We offer alternatives for those we are not interested in any particular activity. In this case, the child is allowed to do something else as long as s/he doesn’t disturb the rest of the group.
Independence brings happiness
We believe that independence is crucial for children to keep them feeling safe and happy. When children become aware that they can succeed in managing on their own, it provides a feeling of strength and increases their self-esteem.
We also believe that a child's confidence increases when s/he feels that s/he belongs and is needed. To increase these feelings, we let the children help with cleaning. The older children are encouraged to help the younger ones.
Stimulation
Children, even babies, want to grow and discover the world. Children need encouragement and stimulation. The first few years of life are the most important ones. It is during this period that the child’s adult character is shaped. And this is the reason that we at ParPar want to offer excellent and stimulating activities.
We offer baby exercise and music lessons from the very start. The older children get the chance to participate in creative and yoga lessons. These are taught by professional teachers in their fields.
The daycare is an extension of home
We believe it is important for the child to feel at home and safe at ParPar. We like to see ParPar as an extension of the family at home. This is why we make sure that there is open and easy communication with parents. We listen to you and keep you updated. In the morning, when the child is dropped off, we ask how the child is doing at home, and whether anything special, exciting or less positive has occurred.
When the child is picked up in the afternoon we inform the parents about what has happened that day: what the child ate, what and who the child played with, new developments or any other relevant information.
